The Liebster Award (From Emily and Hosanna Emily)

Hey guys! I got nominated by Emily and Hosanna Emily to do The Liebster Award! I think that this might be the...third time that I've done this award? Haha! Anyway, thanks Emily and Hosanna Emily for nominating me!

RULES:

  • Link back to the person who tagged you
  • Answer 11 questions
  • Tag 11 bloggers who have less than a thousand readers
  • Ask them 11 questions
  • Let them know you've tagged them through social media

    Emily's questions:
  1.  What's the first word you can think of that starts with the letter R?
    River
  2.  What is the last song that you listened to?
    "Unbreakable" by Fireflight
  3.  What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Being able to type my emotions out and have other people have a glimpse of what I'm feeling.
  4.  Is there a story behind your blog's name?
Well, I had another blog name before this one, and I was really embarrassed about it, because it was really cheesy and was just the first thing I could think of when I was starting my blog. So, I had a post asking what I should change my name to, with a couple examples, and Lord's Girls was an example. Sure enough, it was available for a blog address and name, so I chose to change my name to Lord's Girls. Not as amazing as other people's stories or meanings behind there name, but I guess that it's still a story.
  5.  Tea or hot chocolate?
Definitely hot chocolate. I don't like tea very much. So far, the only flavors of tea that I've liked are Pumpkin and Blueberry.
  6.  Which do you prefer, snail mail (letters) or email?
I prefer letters, just because it seems much more thoughtful than just sending an email. When you send a letter, you take the time to sit down and write it out, buy a stamp, and send it. Writing an email is a lot easier, but because it doesn't take as much time, it isn't as meaningful to me. Do you get what I'm saying?
  7.  Guilty blogging habit?
Not posting as much as I used to. I'm really sorry guys, but I have just been having a year-long writing block and I don't have any new ideas to post about. :/
  8.  Do you have any social media accounts?
Yep! I have a Pinterest account. That's about it.
  9.  What is the next book you want to read?
The next book that I want to read is Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare, but that's not coming out for a while. Lady Midnight just came out this month on March 8th, but I finished it a couple days ago and it was just...AMAZING!!! I'll probably be doing a review of it on my other blog, Reading Past My Bedtime.
  10.  Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
I prefer milk chocolate, but if there isn't an option, I'll definitely eat dark chocolate. :)
  11.  What is your favorite website (not a blog)?
    Pinterest. ;D
       Hosanna Emily's questions:

  1. Why did you start a blog?
I'm going to be completely honest right now. ;) I started a blog because I was bored one day, and also because my friend Chickadee made one, so I thought, "Why not?"
  2. What was the last book you read?
The last book that I read was Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare, like I mentioned before. It really was all that I hoped it would be. :)
  3. What is your favorite word that starts with a "t"?
    Trinity! LOL!
  4. Violet or green?
Violet! It's one of my favorite colors!
  5. What is a country you would love to visit?
I would love to go to England!
  6. What is the most inspirational blog you follow?
Okay, this is a hard one. Instead of just picking one, though, I'm going to say a few. Eve of Womanhood, Precious Moments, and Forever Changed.
  7. Do you have a story behind your blog's name?
I'm sorry, but I'm not retyping all of that up there. If you missed that question above, just go back and read it. ;)
  8. In one word, describe one of your story's main characters. (And explain why you picked that word.)
I'm going to describe Hiraeth from a story that I'm working on with my friends. My one word to describe him: powerful. Hiraeth is an immortal that has abilities that make him indestructible. And that's all I'm gonna say...XP
  9. What is your favorite time period in history?
Well, this is an era, but my favorite era is the Victorian Era.
  10. Do you prefer fantasy or mystery?
Fantasy. Definitely fantasy. No question about it! Heehee!
  11. Favorite Bible verse?
Romans 5:8 "For God showed his love for us--yet while we were sinners, Christ died for us"

       I tag...
  1. Is your hair straight, curly, or wavy?
  2. What song have you been playing on repeat recently?
  3. Do you wear makeup? Why or why not?
  4. If you had a day where you could be anywhere in the world, where would you spend that day?
  5. What is a color that dominates your room?
  6. What is one thing you did as a kid that you wish you could still do?
  7. What is one food that sounds disgusting, but you would try it?
  8. Do you travel a lot? If so, where are some of the places you've been?
  9. What television show do you constantly watch?
  10. Do you know what "fangirling" is? If so, explain what it is in your own words.
  11. What is the most pleasant smell according to yourself?
Have fun guys! If you want to do this award and I didn't tag you, consider yourself tagged! Leave a comment with the link of your post, and I'll be sure to check it out!

Racism and How it Ties in With God

It's been awhile since I've written one of these posts. I am in the mood to post and inspire, so that's what I am planning to do. While it is easy to do one of those goals, the other is actually harder than you think to accomplish. Can you guess which one? Well, to post all you have to do is click "Create Post" and start typing, so I think I'm going to go with the latter being harder. After all, to inspire is to change another's emotions, which is a lot harder than most of you might think. (Mmm...I smell popcorn in the microwave)

racism

1.
a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
2.
a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.
hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

Racism has always been a big problem in our world. For some reason, people get it in their head that because of some aspect of themselves, they are better than another race of people just because of that "special thing." When you look at an African American and you are white, do you feel superior just because  of your fairer skin? When you look at a woman wearing a hijab, do you feel superior because of your different religion? Now, I may not support Islam, but it is wrong to hate people just because of one of their outward qualities. Yeah, that does sound bad when I put it like that. This topic is not meant to sound funny or childish. So be serious for a couple minutes and really let this sink in to your mind.
Racism is not just about the differences between Blacks and Whites. As I gave an example of before, it could be between Muslims and America, for instance. However, America is known to treat African Americans different than Caucasians, especially back before Martin Luther King Jr. (Wow, I feel like I'm writing an essay for school.) This is not how God intended it to be. There are actually many verses in the Bible that discuss racism and why you should not dwell on it.

The rich and the poor have a common bond, the Lord is the maker of them all.  -Proverbs 22:2

And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a man who is a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; and yet God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.  -Acts 10:28

But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.  -James 2:9

There you have it. That is all the proof I need to show you that the Lord does not want us to commit the sin of racism. Below are some quotes that I found on Google Images that I want to include in this post:

2016 Writing Contest

Hey guys! This is my first post of 2016, so I decided that I should make it memorable! I was looking at writing prompts and an idea popped into my mind: what if I had a writing contest? Well, last time I did this, it was pretty much a failure, due to only one entry. Hey, shoutout to Meghan for entering! Thanks again! Anyway, let's get into what your prompt is, rules, how to enter, etc.

Your Writing Prompt:
Emotion

How to Enter:

  • Comment below on this post and simply state that you are entering.

How to Give Me Your Story:

  • Tell me your name that you want me to call you when posting your story. If you want to remain anonymous, that's fine too. But like in the previous bullet, I will not be able to crown you winner if you are anonymous.

  • You must comment to tell me that you are entering by February 20th.
  • I must have your entry by March 1st.
  • No profanity or inappropriate anything.

  • One entry per person.
  • Be as creative as you can!

Additional Info.:

  • I have no idea when I will be posting all of the entries and declaring the winner, so don't get all freaked out if all of March has passed. I doubt that that will be the case though, as I won't force you guys to wait anxiously to see if you won.
  • If you give me your entry on March 2nd, I'll allow it to qualify, as long as you followed the other rules.

I hope that you guys have fun with this and that this time there will be more than one entry! Again, have fun! I'll be waiting for your comments! Oh yeah, and one last thing! If you could spread the word about my writing contest, I would forever be grateful. <3 <3 <3 If you want, you can use my image that I made up there especially for you guys! Okay, that's all now. Thank you for reading this post and have a wonderful year in 2016!!!
